Australia 2013 : Surfing FDC

Surfing is such a cornerstone of Australian leisure that it is difficult to imagine a time when it did not exist. It is one of our most popular leisure pursuits, our champions ore among the best in the world, and the fashion and culture of the sport are dominant not just along the coastline but also across the country. In 2013, Surfing Australia celebrates 50 years of promoting the sport as quintessentially Australian and steering surfing's professionalisation. Marking the anniversary, this stamp issue embraces surfing culture and history, particularly since its popularity surged in the 1950s.
