The Games of the XXX Olympiad is being held from 27 July to 12 August 2012 in London, England. London is the first city to host the Games of the Olympiad three times, having previously done so in 1908 and 1948. Around 10,500 athletes, including an Australian team of around 400, are participating in 26 sports. The sport of Rowing, discipline of Swimming, and event of Pole Vault that are featured on the stamps represent the Australian team in the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic Games' motto "Inspire a generation".
