Australia 1981 : The Gold Rush Era FDC

The Gold Rush Era Samuel Thomas Gill (1818-1880) was a struggling, Adelaide artist who had emigrated from England in 1839. When the rich gold-fields of Victoria were discovered in 1851 Gill, like thousands of others, joined the rush. His sketches of life at the diggings succeeded in capturing a vivid record of that rollicking period in Australian history.
