Sekolah Menengah Chung Ling / Chung Ling High School 

Pada tahun 1917, Pengasas Sekolah Chung Ling telah memilih Pulau Pinang sebagai tapak penubuhan sebuah sekolah dengan matlamat untuk mewariskan budaya dan pendidikan Cina kepada generasi seterusnya. Usaha untuk menyediakan pendidikan berkualiti sepanjang tempoh seabad ini sentiasa mendapat sokongan padu daripada komuniti Cina. Sesungguhnya, Sekolah Chung Ling telah mengharungi pelbagai cabaran dan rintangan termasuklah sewaktu Perang Dunia Kedua. Bermula dengan penubuhan sekolah rendah kini, Sekolah Chung Ling telah berkembang dengan adanya tiga buah sekolah menengah di Pulau Pinang, iaitu SMJK Chung Ling Pulau Pinang, SM Chung Ling (Persendirian) dan SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth. Sekolah Chung Ling telah berjaya melahirkan alumni-alumni berkaliber di setiap pelosok dunia dan telah dinobatkan sebagai salah sebuah sekolah yang berprestij di persada antarabangsa. 

Chung Ling High School was founded in 1917 by Chinese educationists oil the island of Penang. Its primary objective is to protect the heritage and promulgate the Chinese culture and language. With full support from the Chinese community throughout the century, it has tirelessly pursued its ultimate goal of providing quality education. Despite the scourge of the 2nd World War and diverse challenges, Chung Ling's growth has been phenomenal. Front a humble primary school, it has expanded to three secondary schools in Penang to date, namely Penang Chung Ling High School, Chung Ling Private High School and Butterworth Chung Ling High School. Indeed, Chung Ling High School has high-caliber alumni worldwide. Chung Ling High School is deservedly hailed as one of the most prestigious schools in the world. 

1917

Pada tahun 1917, Sekolah Chung Ling dimulakan secara rasmi di tingkat atas syarikat akhbar magisgia) yang beralamat di 18, Lebuh Melayu, Pulau Pinang.

Chung Ling High School was inaugurated in 1917, occupying the upper storey of the Penang Philmnathic Union at 18, Lebuh Melayu, Pulau Pinang. 

1918

Pada tahun 1918, syarikat akhbar tersebut telah membeli sebuah bangunan (kini dikenali sebagai Muzium Sun Yat Sen) yang beralamat di 65, Jalan Macalister, Pulau Pinang untuk dijadikan sebagai tapak baharu Sekolah Chung Ling. 

In 1918, the Union purchased 65 Macalister Road (currently Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall) and used the building as classrooms and hostels. 

1935

Dengan bilangan murid yang semakin ramai, Lembaga Pengurusan Sekolah telah membeli sebidang tanah dengan keluasan 11 ekar di Kampung Bharu untuk dijadikan sebagai tapak bangunan sekolah yang baharu. Pada tahun 1935, bangunan Sekolah Menengah Chung Ling telah digunakan secara rasmi. 

When the enrolment outgrew the classroom capacity, the School Board purchased an 11-acre site in Kampung Bharu. The Chung Ling High School building was officially used in 1935. 

1940 

Perang Dunia Kedua yang meletus pada tahun 1940 telah mempengaruhi keadaan di Pulau Pinang. Pada 9 September 1940, Sekolah Chung Ling telah berpindah buat sementara waktu ke sebuah banglo yang beralamat di 41, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Syah (Jalan Northam). In 1940, Penang u dement a social upheaval when World Nar II broke out. As a result, the school was temporarily relocated to a bungalOw at 41, Northam Road on September 9,1940. 

1954

Pada tahun 1954, bangunan sekolah diperluas di bahagian tengah. Bartgunan "Loceng Besar" (MI4) dan pejabat juga dibina, 

In 1954, the school building was expanded at the central area. A "Bell Tower" and an office building were also constructed. 

1962 

Pada tahun 1962, Lembaga Pengurusan Sekolah telah menubuhkan SM Chung Ling (Persendirian) untuk memberi peluang pendidikan kepada murid yang melebihi usia persekolahan. 

In 1962, the School Board set up the Chung Ling Private School to provide educational opportunities for students who had exceeded the official enrollment age. 

1986

Pada tahun 1986, bilangan penduduk di Butterworth semakin meningkat, begitu juga dengan bilangan murid lepasan sekolah rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina. Bagi menampung bilangan murid yang semakin ramai, Lembaga Pengurusan Sekolah telah mengumpul dana dan membina cawangan Sekolah Chung Ling di Butterworth. Pada tahun 1988, sekolah tersebut dengan rasminya telah dinamakan sebagai SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth. 

As the population of Butterworth grew significantly in 1986, an increasing number of students who had completed their primary education in Chinese schools were facing difficulties in continuing at secondary level. The School Board later decided to set up a branch in 7986, which was officially named Chung Ling Butterworth High School. 

2017 

Sekolah-sekolah Chung Ling ini mempunyai bilangan murid yang melebihi 7000 orang dan bilangan tenaga pengajar seramai 500 orang. Pada tahun 2013, SMJK Chung Ling Pulau Pinang dan SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth telah diiktiraf sebagai "Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan". Pada tahun 2015 pula, SM Chung Ling (Persendirian) telah diberikan penganugerahan tertirtggi bagi kategori Pengelolaan Sekolah Persendirian Cina Peringkat Kebangsaan. 

The Chung Ling High Schools have built a solid reputation for its academic excellence, with a current enrollment of more than 7000 students and a staff of 500. Both Penang and Butterworth Chung king High Schools were awarded the Cluster School Excellence Awards (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan) in 2013. In 2015, Chung Ling was given the highest award for the management of Chinese Private Schools category at the national level,
