Pada September 2009, TAMRON mengumumkan model terbaru lens yang popular kini iaitu 17-50mm ƒ/2.8 kanta zoom - dengan penambahan image stabilization system (''Tamron's ''Vibration Control'' technology). Pada mulanya dicipta hanya untuk mount Nikon, kemudian mount untuk Canon dikeluarkan pada bulan Oktober 2009.
Lens tersebut direkabentuk untuk crop-frame APS-C sensor, bererti ia akan menyediakan keputusan vignetted jika digunakan pada full-frame camera. Ia menggunakan design statik ƒ/2.8 . Pada Nikon, lens ini menyediakan jarak berkesan 26-75 mm dan pada Canon, jarak berkesan 27-80mm. Lens ini didatangkan dengan petal-shaped lens hood, filter 72mm. Ketajaman/sharpness imej yang dirakam melalui kanta ini sedikit memusat, bermaksud lebih fokus berbanding tanpa VC. Luas bukaan ƒ/2.8, lens menunjukkan beberapa sample imej yang memberi tona lebih lembut. Sorry for poor review, saya harus lebih menilik lens ini dan seterusnya mengeluarkan review yang baru.sigh..
