The 1999 Stamp Collecting Month issue features a small pond representing all such habitats across Australia. The stamps are the Magnificent Tree Frog (Litoria splendida) the largest tree frog in Australia; the Sacred Kingfisher  (Todiramphus sanctus) , the most familiar of the smaller Australian Kingfisher; the Javelin Frog (Litoria microbelos) , the smallest of Australia's tree frog; Roth's Tree Frog (Litoria rothii), often found on leaves of Pandanus; the Northern Dwarf Tree Frog (Litoria bicolor), usually found close to water among the grasses and reeds; and the Dragonfly (Rhyothemis graphiptera), a spectacular insect often found near water where it chases and catches other insects in acrobatic displays. A cream-spotted Ichneumon (Echthromorpha intricatoria ) , Green Tree Ants (Oecophylla smaragdina) , a red dragonfly (Diplacodes haematodes), caterpillar and stick insect are also illustrated.
