Australia 2013 : Year of the Snake FDC

YEAR OF THE SNAKE 2013

The Snake is the sixth sign in the Chinese zodiac and symbolises wisdom, caution and romance. Nuwa — the half human, half snake goddess — existed alone at the beginning of the world. To alleviate her loneliness she began to first create animals and then humans. The stamps feature the calligraphic symbol for the Snake and its pictorial derivation. Those born in the Year of the Snake are attractive, graceful, intuitive, exciting and introspective. On the negative side, they can be schemers, secretive, judgmental and possessive. Snakes make excellent politicians, analysts, artists, teachers, philosophers and writers.
